LUBBOCK, Texas -Texas Tech University officials held the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new athletics ticket office Friday morning at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Made possible through the Campaign for Fearless Champions, the state-of-the-art ticket facility was funded by a gift from the Don-Kay-Clay Cash Foundation. At the event, hosted by Texas Tech University System Chancellor Robert Duncan, TTU President Duane Nellis and Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt, officials unveiled a special naming and plaque honoring the Don-Kay-Clay Cash Foundation.
"This is an exciting addition to Jones AT&T Stadium," Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. "This new athletic ticket office location will be a tremendous convenience to our donors, students and Texas Tech fans of every sport."
Located on the southeast corner of Jones AT&T Stadium, the new ticket office now has five ticket bays, each equipped with the latest technology to assist fans in selecting the best seats. Fans can view seating charts for any Texas Tech sporting venue on iPads mounted at the ticket windows.
"It is great to have our ticket sales, operations staff and fan-experience teams together in one central location," said Brent Fletcher, assistant athletic director for ticket operations. "The new facility will provide for a more efficient process for all the behind-the-scenes work that goes on before any game."
"We are thrilled to be able to make this new ticket office possible," said Don Cash, representing the foundation. "We give to Texas Tech because our education gave us the opportunity to have successful careers, and we believe in the future of Texas Tech Athletics. We are grateful to be a part of the Red Raider family and proud to give to The Campaign for Fearless Champions."
Cash received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1966. His wife, Kay Cash, received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University in 1967. Their son, Clay Cash, received a bachelor's degree in Management from Texas Tech University in 1997.
