BANGKOK, Thailand -- On a leaderboard featuring the likes of Bubba Watson, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer and Darren Clarke, it is former Texas Tech standout Clement Sordet who holds the top spot going into the final round of the Thailand Golf Championships after firing a third-round 63 on Saturday, at the Amata Spring Country Club, in Bangkok.Sordet, a native of Charbonnières, France, is setting the pace heading into Sunday's round after completing a third frame that featured seven birdies and an eagle. Sordet's 63, which was the low round of the day, followed up his first two rounds of 71 and 66. He currently sits at 16-under for the tournament.
"It's pretty much my dream to play with the top players in this field" Sordet said. "I think I will do that tomorrow and hopefully I'll enjoy it and just play my own game."

Sordet's play is the buzz of the tournament, especially considering he was the last international player let into the field, at what is regarded as the Asian Tour's prime event. Former winners of the Championship are: Lee Westwood (2011), Charl Schwartzel (2012), Sergio Garcia (2013) and Lee Westwood (2014).
"I just played as good as yesterday and I hit some really good shots and made pretty much every putt," Sordet said. "I just stayed patient but honestly I had no idea I was nine-under at the end. I just play shot by shot. So nine-under - I'm pretty happy about it."
When Sordet steps onto the course on Sunday, he will be chased by some of the sport's premier names. He will be paired in the final group with Jamie Donaldson (-14), the man who clinched the winning point for Europe at the 2014 Ryder Cup.
While at Texas Tech, Sordet had nine top-10 finishes during his senior year, including a third-place finish at the Big 12 Championships and winning a medal at the 2014 NCAA Lubbock Regional. For his efforts he was named to the European team for the 2015 Palmer Cup.
Sordet will tee off in his final round on Sunday at 10:45 a.m., Bangkok time, which translates to 9:45 p.m. CT tonight. The Golf Channel will begin televising the final round at 10 p.m. CT, tonight.
