Men's Golf Opens Spring Season In Hawaii

The No. 18 Texas Tech Men's Golf team opens up its spring season on Thursday at the 24th Annual Amer Ari Invitational in Kona, Hawaii.
The Red Raiders enter the tournament following a three-month hiatus from action as they last competed in the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at the end of October. Tech earned three top five finishes in its four fall tournaments, including third place at the prestigious Tavistock Collegiate.
The 2015 Amer Ari field includes; No. 27 Arizona State, No. 44 Oregon State, No. 31 Oklahoma State, San Jose State, No. 40 TCU, UC-Davis, No. 15 USC, No. 11 Texas, No. 39 Colorado, Hawaii-Hilo, Hawaii-Manoa, No. 14 Stanford, No. 3 Oregon, No. 20 Washington, No. 8 Auburn, No. 4 UCLA, and Osaka Gakuin University. The three-round, 54-hole tournament will be held at the Waikoloa Kings Course (par 72, 7,074 yards) at Waikoloa Beach Resort.
Senior Matias Dominguez and Clement Sordet will lead the Red Raiders alongside sophomore Hannes Ronneblad and freshmen Guillermo Pereira and Wes Artac. Redshirt freshman Adam Strom will compete as an individual.
Pereira leads the team in stroke average at 70.9 and has two top five finishes to his credit. Sordet ranks second on the squad with a 71.0 stroke average along with two top-five tournament finishes.
