Lady Raiders Check In At No. 23 In ITA Poll

LUBBOCK, Texas - After a hard-fought loss to Texas last week, Texas Tech slipped from No. 18 to No. 23 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association women's tennis rankings.
The Lady Raiders (12-4) have been ranked inside the ITA Top 25 in each of the last four seasons. Texas Tech has been ranked as high as No. 17 this season.
The Big 12 Conference is loaded with ranked teams, as seven of the league's 10 teams are ranked this week - Baylor (No. 7), Oklahoma State (No. 11), TCU (No. 20), Texas Tech (No. 23), Oklahoma (No. 31), Texas (No. 32) and Kansas (No. 75).
Individually, three Lady Raiders are ranked in the ITA women's singles Top 125 - Lynn Kiro, Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici. The three have combined to go 53-20 in singles this season.
Kiro, who is 19-8 on the season, is ranked No. 60 this week. Kiro has been ranked as high as No. 35 this season and has been ranked for 14 consecutive ranking periods, dating back to May 1 of last season.
Dvorak (18-9) is ranked No. 90 nationally, while Federici (17-3) is No. 122 this week. Dvorak has been ranked for 11 straight ranking periods and Federici has been ranked for three straight weeks.
Texas Tech returns to action on Friday, as the Lady Raiders host No. 31 Oklahoma at 5 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
