This is the fifth-straight season where a Red Raider has earned first-team accolades as Thomey joins the likes of Logan Hall (2011), Adriana Perez (2012), Sandy James (2013) and Gretchen Aucoin (2014). Perez was previously the only other Red Raider to be honored as a designated player.
Thomey is the eighth Red Raider in program history to be named to the first team. She will advance to the All-America stage of the NFCA postseason awards that are voted on by member coaches from each respective region.
The Sugar Land, Texas native helped lead the Red Raiders with a .355 average to go along with seven home runs and 39 RBI. She totaled 22 extra-base hits (12 doubles and three triples) en route to a team-leading .631 slugging percentage that finished 10th all-time in Tech single-season history.

Hopson, meanwhile, collected third-team honors after hitting .326 as a senior while belting a team-leading 11 home runs and driving in 37 runs. Hopson was among Tech's leaders during Big 12 play as she hit .333 with two home runs and 10 RBI while reaching at a .452 on-base percentage.
Hopson, who previously earned All-Big 12 second team honors on Wednesday, wrapped her career ranked among the top 10 in school history for career home runs (18) and stolen bases (31). Her 11 home runs finished tied for 10th all-time in Tech single-season history.
Tech has now had multiple players represented on the all-region teams in each of the past three seasons. The Red Raiders finished the 2015 season 25-26 overall with a 9-9 mark in Big 12 play.
Tech concluded the year with series wins in each of its final four weekends, going 9-3 during that stretch, its best record ever over the final 12 games of the regular season.
