Lady Raiders Close Fall Slate in Dallas

Texas Tech heads to Dallas for 54-hole tournament beginning Monday morning
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will close its fall slate this week as the Lady Raiders open the Trinity Forest Invitational on Monday morning at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.

Tech, playing its fifth event of the 2016-17 campaign, will be one of five schools ranked in the top 40 of the latest Golfweek poll to play in the 54-hole event that begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Monday morning.

The Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, features the likes of No. 21 Baylor, No. 22 Ohio State, No. 28 Texas A&M as well as the 36th-ranked Mustangs. Kansas State, Michigan, UNLV, Houston, Mississippi State, UTSA, Memphis, Tulsa and Kansas complete the field.

The Lady Raiders, who are 34th in the latest Golfweek rankings, will send a lineup consisting of juniors Gabby Barker and Lauren Mason as well as sophomores Caralyn Barker and Mami Yamamoto and freshman Sofia Garcia. Emma Ballard will also participate as an unattached individual.

Gabby Barker has led the Lady Raiders through four events this year as she is averaging 72.3 strokes per round. Garcia is slightly behind her mark as she is averaging 72.9 strokes per 18 holes. Mason is averaging 73.8 strokes per round while Yamamoto has a 75.6 clip. Caralyn Barker and Emma Ballard have 76.0 and 76.3 averages.

Tech is coming off a seventh-place finish just over a week ago at the prestigious Landfall Tradition. That field featured 12 schools who were ranked in the top 40 at the time by Golfweek.
