Barker Set to Play in Silver Belle Championship

Texas Tech junior tees off the 54-hole event Wednesday morning in Scottsdale, Arizona
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech junior golfer Gabby Barker will tee off Wednesday at the Arizona Silver Bells Championship, one of the top amateur tournaments held over the holiday season.

Barker, the 2016 Big 12 Player of the Year, is set for a 10:30 a.m. PT tee time Wednesday morning in the first of three rounds of the 54-hole event held at the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Barker will be one of 19 players playing in the 19-to-23 age group division. Tournament results and pairings will be posted each day at www.AZSilverBelle.com.

The Caldwell, Idaho native opened the 2016-17 campaign with the Lady Raiders with her third career medalist honor to start the season at the Red Raider Invitational held at The Rawls Course. Barker ended the year with a team-best 72.6 stroke average over five events.

The Lady Raiders return to the links Feb. 12 to start the Lady Puerto Rico Classic held in San Juan. The three-day tournament will be the first of five events this spring leading into the Big 12 Championship on April 21-23 in San Antonio, Texas.
