Lauren Mason lead the Lady Raiders with seven birdies on the opening day of the Briar's Creek Invitational .

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. -- Texas Tech carded a 597 (21 over) after 36 holes at the 2016 Briar's Creek Invitational held at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek Monday afternoon.The Lady Raiders sit in a tie for 12th at the event and trail eighth-ranked Florida (three under) Indiana (E) and No. 20 Florida State who round out the top three at the event.
The Red Raiders were led by sophomore Gabby Barker who carded a round one 76 followed by an even 72 in round two to finish tied for 36th on the day.
Lauren Mason followed Barker with a team-leading seven birdies to finish at 149 (five over). She was followed by Sarah Brown (151), Mami Yamamoto (153) and Kimmy Hill (155) to round out the Lady Raider Scorecard.
The Lady Raiders will complete the two day tournament tomorrow morning with a 7:45 shotgun start. Fans can also follow the program by following @TexasTechWGolf on Twitter.
