LUBBOCK. Texas - Former Texas Tech Lady Raider Elin Arvidsson recorded her first professional tournament win Thursday afternoon at a Suncoast tour event run by the National Women's Golf Association.
The Falkenberg, Sweden, native carded a three-round 209 to win the event by six strokes.
"Right now it just feels so good to get a result in after lots of work," Arvidsson said. "I know I'm on the correct path for the future. I can't wait to keep going and challenge myself each and every day. It was a wonderful day at the course, 7 birdies and 1 eagle. In my mind I just wanted to execute the next shot as well as possible and stay in the present, I have to say I did that pretty well." Arvidsson graduated from Texas Tech in 2015 following four incredibly successful years as a Lady Raider. Arvidsson played a role in leading Texas Tech women's golf to three NCAA Regional appearances, including a program best fifth place finish at the 2015 NCAA Championship.
Arvidsson will be back in action on Monday when she will compete in a US open Qualifier at Bradenton Country Club in Bradenton, Fla., a course that should be familiar to Arvidsson as it served as the site of the 2015 NCAA Women's Golf Championship.
