Freshman Emma Ballard shot a combined 306 at the 2016 WTNGA Championship
LUBBOCK, Texas - Freshman Emma Ballard finished the 2016 Women's TRANS National Golf Association Amateur Championship in a tie for 24th place following a four-day score of 306 at the Lake Forest Country Club in St. Louis, Miss.Â
Ballard began the four round event with a one-over 73 on day one of competition before closing out the event with scores of 77, 81 and 75 to finish 25 strokes back of 2016 champion Bethany Wu. Amanda Kim finished as the event runnerup with a 289 performance, just five strokes ahead of Samantha Gotcher and Elizabeth Elmassian who tied for third. Â Â
Ballard started her final round of play with a bogey on hole one, before recording an even par on holes two through eight to head to the back-nine at one-over. From there the Humble, Texas, native picked up two strokes to end the final round of competition with a 75 (three over).
