NORMAN, Okla. – Texas Tech's Hannes Ronneblad and Henry Todd have been named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
A total of 212 players in Division I were named to the team on Wednesday. Tech has now been represented on the team four consecutive years.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Ronneblad was honored as a PING All-Central Region performer in 2016, leading the Red Raiders with a 73.5 stroke average. He opened the 2015-16 campaign by tying for first (-2) at the Carmel Cup, which was played at Pebble Beach. Ronneblad went on to finish under-par at three more tournaments.
Ronneblad was Texas Tech's best performer at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional, tying for 11th at 8-over. In what was Tech's 15th-straight postseason appearance, Ronneblad's final-round 76 included an eagle on the first hole, which helped thrust the Red Raiders into contention late.
Todd had a 74.04 stroke average as a senior, highlighted by a 3-under finish at the Tucker Intercollegiate, good enough to finish in a tie for sixth, individually.
