Lady Raider Tennis Preps for ITA Texas Regionals

Seven student-athletes to represent Texas Tech at regional tournament
LUBBOCK, Texas – Seven athletes and three doubles teams will represent the Texas Tech Women's Tennis team in the main draw of the ITA Texas Regionals set for this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas.

Senior Sarah Dvorak and juniors Felicity Maltby and Alex Valenstein earned regional seeds and first-round byes in the main draw. Maltby was named the No. 2 overall seed for the tournament and posted a 4-1 record for the fall season so far.

Dvorak and Maltby earned the No. 3 seed in doubles play and will move on to the Round of 32 after a first-round bye. Â Lana Rush and Alex Valenstein will play in the No. 6 seeded position and awaits their opponent in the Round of 32.

The tournament begins Friday at 8 a.m. with the doubles main draw round of 64 followed by the singles main draw round of 128.

The Lady Raiders will face student-athletes from Abilene Christian, Baylor, Lamar, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas, Texas Southern, Houston, Incarnate Word, North Texas, UT-Arlington and UTSA.
