Texas Tech sophomore is in her second season after arriving from her native Japan
LUBBOCK, Texas - Since arriving prior to the 2015-16 campaign, sophomore Mami Yamamoto has become one of Texas Tech's top golfers as she helped lead the Lady Raiders to a NCAA Regional appearance a year ago as well as a top-25 ranking this season.
Yamamoto joined the Tech women's golf program from her native Japan where she was one of the top youth players in the world. She has continued her strong play at the collegiate level as she has recorded four top-20 finishes in almost two complete seasons.
Yamamoto and the rest of the Lady Raiders resume their spring schedule April 9-11 at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, California. It will be Tech's final tournament prior to the Big 12 Championships on April 21-23 in San Antonio.Â
