Brunt Joins Team England for Ballesteros Trophy Match

Texas Tech signee Louisa Brunt will represent her native England in a match play event versus Spain
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf signee Louisa Brunt will represent her native England later this month in a match play event for the Seve Ballesteros Trophy. The two-day event will run April 29-30 at the El Saler Golf Club in Valencia, Spain.

Brunt will be one of 10 male and female players on an England team that is 14-2 all-time in the event against Spain. This is the third year where the annual match between England and Spain has been a mixed event.

Brunt, who will be playing in the Helen Holme Scottish Ladies Open this weekend, signed with Tech this past November and will join the Lady Raiders for the 2017-18 season. One of the top overseas players in the 2017 class, Brunt currently ranks in the top 100 of the European golf rankings.

Already this year, Brunt made her English women's team debut in the recent European Nations Cup. She has played in several of the top European tournaments over her amateur career highlighted by her win last year at the women's Pleasington Putter.

Brunt will join a Tech program that currently ranks 27th in the latest Golfweek Magazine poll. The Lady Raiders begin the Big 12 Championships on Friday morning which will be held at The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
