Player's Blog: Thanking Our Seniors
April 27, 2017 | Softball

Finally, the long anticipated and bittersweet senior weekend is here! As the last home series of the season approaches, I am compelled to reflect on the year and our class of nine seniors who have led the program.
Â
These seniors are a great group of leaders and the best teammates in the world. They set the standard for what it takes to compete at this level and then helped each one of us meet it. They have been through a lot of change together, but one of the constants that they have continued to show is their heart. Â
Â
This season, especially in the last few weeks, we have all poured our hearts into the game. We compete at our best and play the game with the respect it deserves. And who is leading the way and giving it all they can? Each one of our nine seniors. Even if we don't get the results we want, there is no one I would rather share the field with.
Â
The lessons that we are learning right now are powerful ones that may be hard to understand. However, when we all look back at our softball career, it's the relationships and these lessons that we will remember more than the score of the games. We have had some great wins and tough losses but each one of us is a better teammate, player and person for sharing the field with these amazing young women.Â
Â
I want to thank each senior for everything that you have taught me about the game, and for accepting all of us into the softball family. The love that we have for each other as a family will surely have a lasting impact on the rest of us, and future Red Raiders.
Â
The best way to thank these seniors for their four years is to take some wins over Oklahoma this weekend. I can't think of a better way to honor all of you guys than that. Â Lets finish the season strong and enjoy every precious inning that we have left on the field together.
Â
Love you guys and Guns Up!
