Player's Blog: Rise Up

Bad weather and uncontrollables seem to follow us wherever we go. In our first week of Big 12 play at Iowa State, we had to work around bad weather, which meant we had to move games around multiple times.
The next weekend in Waco, the weather continued to show storms. This led to a double header on Friday and one game on Saturday. We played hard at Baylor. The hard work and time we have been putting in as a team is starting to show more each game. We have been unlucky with weather, hitting it hard right to people and getting Texas leaguer hits on us that we cannot do anything about. But let me be the first to tell you, the ball will fall and we will be getting back what we have been putting in.
Our team has a resiliency that no one else can match. Success occurs when you get up more times than you fall. Though we have failed, we continue to rise up to meet each challenge and strive for where we want to be. Where we will be.
This game is a game of failure, but those who are successful do not let those failures define them. We are now home for the next couple of weeks, which could not be more great. We will have more time to put in extra work and enjoy being able to play at home.
As we prepare for this week against Kansas, we continue to work hard because we have unfinished business with them. We had the opportunity to have two great days of practice and a game against ACU on Wednesday to help us prepare and to keep us fresh.
Kansas got us last year, but not this year. This team has a new mindset to go out, play hard and to cause havoc. This is the time to protect our turf. This is the time for us to rise up.
