
Munger Receives Master Strength & Conditioning Coach Honor

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech's Katie Munger, the Associate Director of Strength & Conditioning Olympic Sports, will be named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). The honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession.

Munger is one of 18 collegiate strength and conditioning coaches across the country who will receive this prestigious certificate this year, joining Tory Stephens, Texas Tech's Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Strength & Conditioning, in the esteemed club of 186 total MSCC's.

Coach Stephens will present Coach Munger with a blue MSCC Jacket on Thursday, May 11, at the CSCCa National Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Munger began her career at Texas Tech in 2005 and is currently responsible for training Texas Tech's soccer and volleyball teams, as well as assisting other Olympic sports. Before arriving at Tech, Munger was an assistant basketball coach at Lubbock Christian University where her duties included developing the strength and conditioning program for the Lady Chaps.

In order to receive the certificate and corresponding title of distinction, an individual must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree, be a current full-time strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate or professional level with at least 12 years of full-time experience and hold membership and certification in the CSCCa.
