Ramsey Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Ramsey advances to the national ballot, with results announced on May 25.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech sophomore Kiani Ramsey earned a spot on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 softball team as the College Sports Information Directors of America announced this year's district winners today.

A native of Portland, Texas, Ramsey has compiled a 4.0 grade-point average while studying kinesiology at Tech. She is currently second on the team in batting with a .301 average and a .344 on base percentage. She is also tied for third at Tech all-time in triples with seven in her career.

This is Ramsey's first CoSIDA award and marks the first time since 2012 a Red Raider has been named to the academic all-district team. She will now advance to the national ballot, where she will compete against the seven other districts for a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-America teams, which will be released on May 25 for NCAA Division I.
