July 31, 2017 | Softball
Infielder was a member of Paraclete High School’s 50-game win streak, back-to-back CIF titles.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball head coach Adrian Gregory announced the signing of Lancaster, Calif., native Myamie Thompson to the Red Raider program Monday.
Â
Thompson, a 5-6 infielder, was a key contributor for one of the winningest programs in southern California in Lancaster's Paraclete High School. She helped the Spirits to a 50-game win streak from 2015-17, including an undefeated 2016 campaign and back-to-back California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) titles.
Â
"We are very excited to add Myamie and her versatile, athleticism to our roster," Gregory said. "She plays the game so hard and leaves everything on the field. Her work ethic and love for the game comes across so pure, and our roster will welcome the competition with open arms. This is a great day to be a Red Raider!"
Â
Thompson was a two-time All-Gold Coast First Team honoree after stellar junior and senior seasons. She also helped the Spirits to Alpha League title her sophomore year and a CIF quarterfinal appearance while earning All-Alpha second team accolades.
Â
Thompson becomes the seventh 2017 high school signee for Gregory and the ninth newcomer for the program overall for 2017-18.
