Kittley, Oduduru Earn Big 12 Postseason Honors

Kittley named Coach of the Year, Oduduru named Freshman of the Year
LUBBOCK, Texas – Following an impressive and historic indoor season, Head Coach Wes Kittley and freshman Divine Oduduru earned Big 12 postseason honors. Â

Kittley was named the 2018 Big 12 Indoor Coach of the Year for the first time in program history. Under his leadership, the Red Raiders were ranked No. 1 in the nation for the first time in school history and kept the top spot four consecutive weeks.

Kittley led his men's team to the first Indoor Big 12 Championship with a program high 143 points. Four Red Raiders captured individual Big 12 Championships and 33 athletes were awarded All-Big 12 honors.

Heading into the national meet, Kittley was named the Mountain Region Men's Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. Tech sent 10 entries to the Indoor National Championship, marking the most in program history. The Red Raiders brought home six first team All-America honors and five second team All-America honors.

Oduduru earned the 2018 Big 12 Freshman of the Year for the indoor season, becoming the third Tech freshman to win the award. The Bowerman Watch List member ranks No. 2 in the world for him 20.18 200m mark. In his rookie season, Oduduru broke the school records in the 60m and 200m and has notched top 10 marks in every individual performance this year. His 18 points scored at the Big 12 Championships helped guide the Red Raiders to the title and he was awarded the High Point Scorer of the meet.

After finishing second in the 60m and sixth in the 200m at the NCAA Indoor National Championship, Oduduru was named to the All-America First Team for both events.
