ATTENTION! The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here! CONFERENCE PLAY STARTS THIS WEEK!

Before we get into the excitement of this season, let's recap on what happened during our week in California. We started off the CSUN Tournament with two wins. Oregon State put up a tough fight and OSU ended up getting the win Saturday. Knowing we would play them the next day, we got our minds right and came out Sunday to get the W! With momentum going our way, we took the second game against CSUN scoring a total of 27 runs just that weekend. Sunday we were invited to Coach Sam's Dad's house which was a short 20 minute drive from the hotel. After meeting her family and enjoying an amazing meal (PIZZA!) , we decided to take some pictures to document everything. Side note: greenest grass ever.

Sunday we went to Warner Brother's Studio. We got to see the set off Pretty Little Liars, F.R.I.E.N.D.S and of course Ellen's set. After the tour we got to eat dinner and explore Santa Monica Pier. A group of us chose to find the nearest sushi restaurant, after which we took a stroll through some stores and found the most flattering lip stick colors.
An exhausting day came to an end, we loaded up and headed to Long Beach to play the No. 22-ranked team. After a long and hard fight, we lost 2-4. The loss definitely stung because we expected to win. Although the outcome was not what we wanted, we proved to ourselves and others that we are good enough to compete with the best. Fast forward to the Highlander Invitational where we went 4-1.
After going 8-3 on our 10-day trip, we felt the momentum coming into practice on Tuesday. What better way to kick off conference than by playing the reigning National Champs. This trip is extra special to me since I grew up 15 minutes away from Norman. Not only will my family be there, but also my high school friends, former teammates and a couple of teams I help coach in the summer. But this weekend we are there for more than that. We've been preparing since August for the chance to show off our new tools and improvements.
Most people expect us to have some anxiety going into Norman playing Oklahoma, but with the mindset we've had, the anxiety has turned into eagerness. The eagerness to compete with the best! Our game plan as a team is coming out strong with so much energy that teams might not have being on someone else's turf. We've played this game our whole life, and we plan to trust our skills and keep persevering all seven innings.
