The Players' Journal: The Pursuit of Warriors

All season Coach G has talked about our pursuit. How this journey and what we do along the way matters just as much, maybe even more than the results. It is crazy how right she is, and so we're giving all it takes to keep pursuing this journey: faith and trust in our process.

When I think of this team and our mission for the year I think of warriors. Warriors who are resilient, persistent, patient, and pugnacious. (a word that means a lot to all of us) The heart and passion that we share for this game is immeasurable, and this journey we are on together really does show us just how blessed we are.

This weekend we head to Austin (see you soon mom!) to take on the Longhorns, and I know we can't wait to bring all that we have to beat them on their home turf. Looking at our season so far, people can see the ups and downs of it, but what they don't see on paper is the pursuit. Our pursuit is there, and it's hungry. I like to look at great and successful team stories because you can see the road bumps, forks in the road, and challenges that those teams were faced with. Yet those obstacles only made them stronger. This is what our team's story looks like, and the faith and trust we have gives me the ultimate chills because what's to come is going to be worthwhile.

I can guarantee you this team is something special. We have the grit, determination, and attitude it takes to create something special for the backstretch of our season. Most of all, we have the spirit within ourselves and each other that allows us to finish this season in a way you have never seen before. We are warriors who believe in each other and this journey we are on. People will look back on this season we are having and I can guarantee you they will say, "Nevertheless, they persisted."
