Texas Tech set to tee off the two-day event at 8:00 CT on Saturday
GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Texas Tech women's golf team will begin their seven-tournament spring session Saturday with the start of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite at The National Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
The Red Raiders, who enter the spring at No. 48 in the Golfweek Magazine poll, will aim to continue their momentum from the fall where they finished among the top-seven teams three times, including two top-5 finishes.
Tech head coach JoJo Robertson will utilize a lineup consisting of freshmen Anna Dong and Cecilie Nielsen, along with sophomores Amy Taylor, Sofia Garcia and Louisa Brunt. Senior Mami Yamamoto will round out the tournament field for the Red Raiders as an individual.
Tech will be looking for another strong performance from Garcia, who was recently ranked as the No. 15 international collegiate golfer in the Arnold Palmer Cup standings. She closed the fall averaging 71.0 strokes per round after finishing among the top-11 individuals in all four events.
The grouping of Brunt, Dong, Nielsen and Taylor have a combined seven top-30 finishes in their young careers and four postings in the top-20. Yamamoto rounds out the lineup having finished as high as second last spring.
