Texas Tech snags two points in consolation match
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Texas Tech women's golf team fell to Pepperdine by a score of 2-3 at the Lamkin Invitational on Tuesday.
The Red Raiders were led by freshman Anna Dong on Tuesday, who won her match against Hannah Haythorne of Pepperdine by a final count of 5&3. Dong carded six birdies to her opponent's two en route to the victory.
Tech's second point was provided by Louisa Brunt, who defeated her competitor by a 5&3 count. She notched four birdies in her third round of the tournament.
Tech will next face the loser of UC Irvine and San Jose State in the final round of play on Wednesday afternoon. The contest will also follow a match play format.
