The Player's Journal: Minor Setback for a Major Comeback

A 27-5 record and being ranked in the top 16? How can this team have a setback with those amazing stats? The truth is, everyone in life has setbacks… even if their stats do not show it. While it is true we are having a fantastic season, we did hit a little bump in the road this past weekend. However, any setback can be followed by a major comeback. I cannot express in words how much I believe in this team and how incredible of a comeback that I believe we are about to have.

The atmosphere surrounding this team is like none that I have ever been a part of. I can truly say this team is a second family that I can go to for anything, which is an amazing feeling. This team worships the Lord with everything they have and we give all glory to Him. Through our faith and support for each other, we have already accomplished so many things. One weekend will not make us forget who we are.

We have taken on this week of practices with a new perspective. We are getting back to ourselves; the team that plays so fearlessly, so aggressive, and trusts each other endlessly. We are ready to conquer every game, every inning, every at-bat, and every pitch, starting tomorrow against Iowa State. As our strength coach Tyson, said this week, "We are darn good, now let's go dominate." – that is exactly what we intend to do.

Send positive vibes and prayers for us as we travel to Iowa State. We cannot wait to be back in action, in front of our fans, the next week as we take on Texas at home.
