Texas Tech Celebrates 42 Red Raiders Earning Degrees

A total of 42 student-athletes will cross the stage this weekend at United Supermarkets Arena
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics will have 42 of its student-athletes earn their degrees this weekend during the university's commencement ceremonies held at United Supermarkets Arena.

Each of the student-athletes graduating this weekend will walk the stage wearing a special red stole that signifies the individual's status as a student-athlete. The stoles are part of a recently-established tradition that began with the spring of 2017 commencement ceremonies.

Commencement exercises begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon with the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and the J.T. and Margaret Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts. The graduate school will follow at 7:30 p.m. that evening.

Graduates from the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering, College of Human Sciences, University Programs, Honors College and Wind Energy program will receive their diploma at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The final ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, featuring the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration, the College of Media and Communication, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and College of Architecture.
