Tech Softball Lands Transfer Georgia Wall

Wall comes to Texas Tech after three seasons at Oklahoma City University.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech softball team will see a new face in the circle after head coach Adrian Gregory announced Monday the addition of pitcher Georgia Wall, a redshirt senior transfer from Oklahoma City University.

A three-year letterwinner at for the Stars, Wall comes to Tech as a three-time NAIA All-American, two-time NFCA All-American and two-time NAIA national champion.

Wall's success at OCU began as a freshman in 2016 when she led the Stars to their ninth NAIA national championship. The Marlow, Okla., native carried an impressive 28-1 record with a dominating 0.47 ERA. In her first season in the circle, she collected 169 strikeouts while tossing 10 shutouts and 21 complete games. Wall led the country in earned runs (13) and ERA (0.47), as well as third in NAIA in opponent batting average (0.132) and hits allowed per nine innings (3.20). She earned three Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week nods and picked up a slew of awards, including NAIA World Series MVP, SAC Freshman of the Year, All-SAC First-Team, All-NAIA Southwest Region First-Team, NFCA All-America and NAIA All-America First-Team status.

Leading the Stars to another NAIA national championship as a sophomore in 2017, Wall went a perfect 33-0 with a minuscule ERA of 0.64. The NAIA World Series MVP led the OCU pitching staff with 218.2 innings of work and racked up 175 strikeouts in her second year in the circle. The 2017 SAC Pitcher of the Year and All-SAC first-teamer compiled 26 complete games and 12 shutouts while limiting opponents to just 38 walks. In addition to her All-NAIA Southwest Region First-Team honors, Wall was named a member of the NAIA and NFCA All-America squads.

The Marlow, Okla., native posted an 18-4 overall record as a junior in 2018 and dished out 137 strikeouts to aid a 1.41 ERA. The righty collected 11 shutouts and 19 complete games and was awarded SAC Pitcher of the Week laurels on three separate occasions. After earning All-NAIA Southwest Region and All-SAC First-Team honors, she was awarded NAIA Second-Team All-America status.

Wall is a four-year letterwinner from Marlow High School where she went 27-4 in her final season under head coach Brian Miller. She received an All-State nod from the Oklahoma Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association and was the Duncan Banner All-Area Pitcher of the Year in her junior and senior seasons. Wall played club ball for the Oklahoma Magic under the direction of Bill Robinett.
