Lady Raiders Advance to Main Draw Finals in Singles and Doubles

MIDLAND, Texas – Texas Tech women's tennis players Nell Miller and Olivia Peet will compete in the main draw doubles finals of the Midland Racquet Club Collegiate Classic on Sunday, while Peet will compete in the finals of the main singles draw.

Peet went 2-0 in singles play on Saturday to advance to the finals of the event, set for Sunday morning. The sophomore picked up both wins in three sets, beginning with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 quarterfinal win over Liz Chileno of UT Arlington. In the semifinals, Peet knocked off Anastasia Kharitonova of Baylor, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. She will face Baylor's Kristina Sorokolet in the finals for the event title.

Peet and Miller teamed up in doubles to pick up a pair of wins and advance to the finals. The pair defeated UT Arlington's Liz Chileno and Nanka Takeuchi, 8-4, to advance to the semifinals where they picked up a 9-7 win over Abilene Christian's Sarah Adams and Allison Stewart to set up a finals contest with Tyler JC's Helena Jansen and Emelic Schwarte. Peet will be looking to repeat as a Midland doubles champ.

In other singles action, Miller dropped a tough quarterfinal match to Baylor's Sorokolet, 4-6, 5-7, and Isa DiLaura dropped a 4-6, 4-6, match to Schwarte.
