February 10, 2020 | Men's Golf
PALISADES, Calif. – Texas Tech men's golfer Kyle Hogan finished 4-over par at the Genesis Open Collegiate Showcase on Monday at the Riviera Country Club.
The showcase highlighted some of the best collegiate golfers in the nation in an 18-hole stroke-play event that gave the winner an exemption to participate in The Genesis Invitational over the weekend. Monday's winner was also given a $50,000 donation to support their university's golf program.
Hogan was paired in a pro-am style competition with former TCU golfer Tom Hoge on Monday. The junior from Cypress, Texas concluded the competition with a score of 75, tying for sixth place. Sean Yu of San Diego State would go on to win showcase by posting a 1-under 70.
Hogan is ranked as the No. 8 men's collegiate golfer by Golfstat following a stellar fall campaign where he notched a pair of third-place finishes.
The Red Raiders will return to action at The Prestige on Feb. 17-19 in Palm Springs, California for their second tournament of the spring semester.
