The Players' Journal: Home Sweet Home!

We are currently in the middle of the preseason, which means traveling, traveling and more traveling. We have traveled to NOLA, the east coast and Houston, but now it's finally time for the best coast – THE WEST COAST!
Â
This last weekend opened our eyes as an entire team. We were not pleased leaving Houston. I think this makes wanting to win no matter what even more important. Not only just wanting to win but remembering why we play the game. Remembering why we picked Texas Tech. Remembering that we don't play for the name on the back of our jerseys, but the 33 others that we call family. Remembering to have the mamba mentality. Walking into this weekend with this mentality, knowing that we play LSU, and feeling like we have some unfinished business. I'm so excited!
Â
I can speak for the rest of our west coast babies when I say that we are so excited to be in California. Over the past couple of weeks, it has filled my heart seeing my teammates get to see and play in front of their families. It has made me more eager and excited to go back home. I am totally biased when I say this but, California is hands down the best state. Maybe not the prices for anything, but you just have to love Cali. Like Ladarius would say, "I said what I said." I'm looking forward to seeing my family and lifelong friends and living that Cali lifestyle. There is no place like home!
Â
Overall, I'm excited to see this team bounce back, move forward and get the job done. TOGETHER. WE CAN. WE WILL. WE MUST.
