The Players' Journal: Two Families
April 29, 2020 | Softball

I haven't seen or hugged my best friends for about a month and a half now and to say that I miss seeing their faces every day is an understatement. We were supposed to be winning in Norman this weekend so being home in April is odd, to say the least. I miss being on the dirt and yelling in the dugout with my girls. Being home in Oregon and being so far away from everybody makes it that much harder.
Â
I am a firm believer in God's plan and I have been praying for everyone affected by the Coronavirus, whether that be directly or indirectly. This is a crazy time that we are living in and I know my family and I are trying to make the most of it.
Â
I have been keeping busy with homework and DIY crafts around the house. I have enjoyed spending quality time with my family around the dinner table and being around my sister before she goes off for her freshman year of college. We have tried to get outside as much as possible, weather allowing of course!
Â
With all that being said, I CANNOT wait to be back in Lubbock with my second family. We are all itching to get back to work again but, for now, we are all trying to get better with the resources we have available. This break has made me realize how much we take for granted and I truly believe that when things start returning back to normal, we will have a greater understanding for the little things that make life so good. But until then, zoom calls will have to do! Can't wait to see everyone back at the Rock soon and as always, WRECK EM'!
