Red Raiders Ranked No. 9 in Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's golf team will go into the spring portion of its season ranked No. 9 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Red Raiders finished ranked No. 3 in the poll last season and are currently at No. 24 in the Golfstat rankings.
After finishing the shortened 2020 season as the top ranked team, the Pepperdine Waves earn the pre-spring No. 1 ranking. The Waves received 9 first-place votes, followed by second-ranked Oklahoma who received five first-place votes, and Vanderbilt who received three first-place votes. Texas climbs all the way up to fourth, followed by Georgia to round out the top five.
Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Tech, and Arizona State, who received three first-place votes, all earned a spot in the top ten.
The Red Raiders announced their spring schedule last week which begins with a trip to Arizona at the end of this month and includes six tournaments leading into the postseason. The Red Raiders return to competition at the Arizona Intercollegiate from Jan. 25-27 at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona.
The Red Raiders played four fall tournaments, finishing third at the Colonial Collegiate and fourth at the Maridoe Collegiate. Kyle Hogan won the Maridoe individual championship to qualify for the Houston Open. Tech is currently ranked No. 24 nationally in the Golfstat rankings which were posted on Nov. 17, 2020.
Tech will head to California to play at The Prestige from Feb. 15-17 in Palm Springs, California before playing three straight tournaments in Texas. The Red Raiders will compete in the Cabo Collegiate at the TPC San Antonio (March 1-3), Texas Invitational in Austin (March 15-16) at the UT Golf Club and then in College Station for the Aggie Invitational on April 9-11 at the Traditions Club.
The Big 12 Men's Golf Championship is schedules for April 26-28 in Hutchinson, Kansas at the Prairie Dunes Country Club. The details for the NCAA postseason has not been announced.
