Nevada transfer Kendall Fritz and Oklahoma transfer Olivia Rains will join the 2022 Red Raider roster.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball head coach Sami Ward has announced the signing of two-time All-Mountain West earner Kendall Fritz and 2021 national champion Olivia Rains to the 2022 Red Raider roster.
"We are so excited to have Kendall and Olivia in Lubbock with us," said Ward. "We feel like we have made our program more competitive by adding these two talented pitchers and expect them both to help us immediately."
"Kendall and Olivia's experience and knowledge will help with developing our young staff," said Texas Tech assistant coach Brittany Miller. "Their abilities complement each other and the other pitchers we already have in our bullpen. We are excited to get them on campus this fall."
Sami says:
"Kendall has a strong reputation for being a fierce competitor. She has a great deal of experience being the ace in her former staff. We are excited to add her and her mentality to our program."
Sami says:
"Olivia is a national champion with WCWS playing experience. She has a great champion mindset. Her competitiveness and experience will help our young staff."
Fritz and Rains provide valuable experience to a young Texas Tech bullpen which features three freshmen, two sophomores, two juniors and one senior.
The additions of Fritz and Rains marks five transfers signed by the Red Raiders thus far this offseason. They join a trio of LMU transfers who signed in June, Riley Ehlen, Molly Grumbo and Page Mindedahl.
