Red Raiders finish off Iowa State; Draw Kansas State

On Day two the Red Raiders recorded four points to pull into a tie atop Group A
HOUSTON – The No. 1 ranked Texas Tech men's golf program finished off a dominant 5.5-0.5 victory over Iowa State and earned a crucial point in a 3-3 draw with Kansas State at Day Two of the 2022 Big 12 Match Play event hosted by Houston Oaks.
As he has all week, top ranked amateur Ludvig Aberg led the way for the Red Raiders. Aberg ran his record to a perfect 3-0, by virtue of a dominant 5&3 victory over K-State and a 3&1 victory over Iowa State. The senior has won has not had to play more than 17 holes in a single round all week
Freshman Matthew Comegys and sophomore Tyran Snyders are also a perfect 3-0 through the first two days of action. Comegys closed out a 2&1 victory over the Cyclones and a 2-up victory over the Wildcats, while Snyders won his two matches 4&2 (KSU) and 4&3 (ISU).
At the end of four sessions of play, the Red Raiders sit tied atop the group with TCU with seven total points. The Horned Frogs have played all four pool play matches and will sit out Wednesday morning session. Tech's opponent Wednesday, UT, sits in third just three points behind.
Tech needs an outright victory or a draw against Texas tomorrow morning to claim the Pool A title and advance to the championship match. If the Red Raiders fall outright to UT, the Longhorns will advance on the tiebreaker.
Oklahoma leads Pool B with 9 overall points, followed by Oklahoma State (7), Kansas (6), West Virginia (1) and Baylor (0).

The Red Raiders return for the final match of pool play against UT. If victorious Tech will advance to the Big 12 Match Play championship match against the winner of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
The Sooners currently have a two-point lead over OSU. The two schools meet tomorrow morning. OU will advance to the championship match with either a win or draw over OSU, while the Cowboys would reach the title match with an outright victory over the Sooners.
