Texas Tech drops 2023 softball schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas – Highlighted by a trio of home Big 12 matchups, Texas Tech and head coach Craig Snider announced its 2023 slate Wednesday.

First-year head coach Craig Snider will welcome in Iowa State, Baylor and Oklahoma State as this year's squad's home Big 12 slate while the team pays visits to Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

The action kicks off on Feb. 10-12 as Tech opens up the season on the road at the UT Arlington Tournament. The Red Raiders will stay on the road for the first three weeks of the season, heading to El Paso (Feb. 16-19) and the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 23-26) for two more tournaments.

Red Raider Nation can see the 2023 softball squad at home for the first time March 3-5 as Tech plays host to Rutgers, Seton Hall and North Dakota in the first of two home tournaments.

After a home midweek tilt with Tarleton State (March 7), the Red Raiders welcome in New Mexico, Manhattan and Buffalo (March 10-12) for the second home out of conference tournament.

As campus breaks for spring break, Tech will hit the road for a midweek doubleheader against Texas State (March 14) before hitting the road for a tournament at Maryland (March 17-19). In College Park, the Red Raiders will square off against Maryland, Rider and Bucknell.

Tech's final midweek action before conference play will take place on March 22 as Abilene Christian comes to Lubbock.

Big 12 action kicks off with a three-game series against Texas in Austin (March 24-26). Tech's first home series comes the following weekend (March 31- April 1) when Iowa State comes to town.

Tech will face the defending national champions in Norman April 6-8 before returning home to square off against Baylor April 14-16.

The month of April comes to a close with a final road series against Kansas (April 21-23) before closing out Big 12 play at home against Oklahoma State (April 28-30).

The Big 12 Tournament will take place May 11-13 in Oklahoma City.
