April 11, 2022 | Men's Golf
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech junior Ludvig Aberg has been selected to the Haskins Award Watch List presented by Stifel for the second straight season. The watch list features only 16 players from throughout the NCAA Division I ranks.
An Eslov, Sweden native, Aberg has had a dominant spring season which includes winning The Prestige championship and running off four straight top-5 finishes. He is coming off taking second at the Aggie Invitational last weekend in Bryan-College Station after finishing third at the Valspar Collegiate in Florida two weeks ago. Through eight stroke-play events this season, Aberg has a 70.6 scoring average in 24 rounds played and is currently at No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and No. 8 in the Golfstat college rankings.
The Haskins Award is celebrating its 52nd year and has been given to players who have captured 32 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Past recipients include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ben Crenshaw, and Justin Thomas. John Pak (FSU) won the 51st Haskins Award in 2021. The Fred Haskins Award is the oldest individual college golf award and the only award to be voted on by players, coaches, golf SID's, and select golf media. The Golf Channel and Golfweek are media partners for the Fred Haskins Award.
