Evans, Sayfetdinova crack ITA Doubles rankings

Tech’s No. 1 doubles duo checks in at No. 42 in this week’s updated rankings
LUBBOCK, Texas – The doubles duo of Kailey Evans and Avelina Sayfetdinova cracked the ITA doubles rankings that came out Wednesday.
Ranked as the 42nd duo in the country, Evans and Sayfetdinova became the first duo since Lisa Mays and Kaitlin Staines to receive a doubles ranking. Staines and Mays were ranked as high as No. 32 during the 2020-21 season.
Winners of six of their last seven matches, Evans and Sayfetdinova are 7-3 over their last 10 matches, including a pair of ranked victories. Last Friday, the duo defeated then ranked No. 14 Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Miyamoto of OSU, 6-4.
On Sunday, Skriabina and Evans saw a six-match winning streak snapped when they fell to Oklahoma's fourth-ranked duo of Carmen and Ivana Corley, 6-3.
With her inclusion in the doubles rankings, Sayfetdinova is now ranked in both singles and doubles. The freshman checks in at No. 79 and is joined in the individual rankings by Margarita Skriabina who is ranked No. 27 overall.
As a team, Texas Tech is ranked No. 30 overall.
