LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech junior Ludvig Aberg has earned Big 12 Golfer of the Month for April after winning last week's Big 12 Championship title and securing three-top 10 finishes during the month.
Aberg won the Big 12 individual championship at 8-under-par to become the second Red Raider in program history to earn the Conference title and the first since Chris Ward in 2010. An Eslov, Sweden native, he shot a 3-under, 69 in the final round and closed with a total of 208 (-8) to finish two strokes ahead of Oklahoma's Chris Gotterup 210 (-6).
This is Aberg's second career Big 12 Monthly Golf award and his first since February 2021. In April, Aberg also finished as the runner-up at the Aggie Invitational and sixth at the Thunderbird Collegiate during the month and currently ranks No. 2 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings while finding himself on the spring Haskins Award Watch List. He completed the regular season with seven top-10 finishes including the three in April.
