Tech sits fourth after 36 holes at Bruzzy

Gala Dumez sits tied for 10th, four shots back
ARDMORE, Okla. – The Texas Tech women's golf program, powered by a second round 69 from Gala Dumez, sits in solo fourth after 36 holes of the Bruzzy Challenge hosted by the University of North Texas at Dornick Hills.
After opening with an opening round 73, Dumez five birdies to move to +2 for the championship.
Freshman Lauren Zaretsky fired a second round even-par 70 and sits tied for 17th at +5 overall.
The host Mean Green lead the event by eight shots over Tulsa. UNT is +3 while the Hurricane are +11. Purdue (+19), Tech (+23), No. 17 UCF (+25) and Charlotte (+25) round out the top five.
Kansas State (+26), TCU (+31), Nebraska (+32) and Houston (+38) round out the top-10.
Oklahoma (+40), Missouri (+41), Wisconsin (+42), Western Kentucky (+42) and Miami (+56) round out the 15-team field.
Kansas State's Hailey Vargas used rounds of 70 and 68 to sit at -2 overall, one shot ahead Ellie Roth of North Texas who is at -1.
In total 12 players sit between one and four shots off the lead heading into tomorrow's third and final round of action.
