Tan shines in Consolation Bracket loss to Iowa State

After beating ISU yesterday, Tech fell 3-1-1 to the Cyclones
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Texas women's golf program closed out a 1-2 day Saturday at the Big 12 Match Play hosted at Kierland Golf Club in Arizona.
Entering the day in contention to advance to the Winners' Bracket, Tech ended up finishing pool play tied with Iowa State for sixth after recording 14.5 points. During the morning session, Tech went 1-1 defeating No. 23 OSU 3-2, before falling to TCU 3-1-1.
Entering the week seeded seventh, Kansas rattled off 17.0 points during the pool play sessions to enter the Winners Bracket as the top seed.
TCU used a perfect 2-0 morning to finish with 16.5 points, while Texas also used a 2-0 morning to end with 16.5 points. The Horned Frogs won the tiebreaker with UT to end up as the second seed.
Despite going 0-2 during the morning session, Baylor earned the tiebreaker over OSU to advance to the Winners Bracket Semifinals, while OSU was sent to the Consolation Bracket.
OSU lost to OU 3-2 and will now face Tech in the seventh-place match tomorrow morning, while ISU and Oklahoma will meet in the Consolation Bracket finals/Fifth Place Match.
Kansas advanced to the Big 12 Match Play Championship match on hole differential after halving their match 2-2-1 against Baylor. The Jayhawks won 5&4 and 2&1 while Baylor won just 3&2 and 1UP. The Jayhawks will meet No. 7 Texas on Sunday for the title, as UT defeated TCU 3-2.
Kansas State finished tied for eighth with Oklahoma and was eliminated from the event after losing the tiebreaker with the Sooners.
As previously mentioned, the Red Raiders were led by Tan, who won all three matches Saturday to run her record for the week to 6-0-1.
Tan has now won four of her six matches this week by at least four shots, after defeating TCU 4&3. Her two other wins came in 3&2 fashion over OSU and 2 UP against ISU.
