Adeshina named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Freshman high jumper Temitope Adeshina was named the Co-U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week Tuesday afternoon. She shared the weekly national honor with LSU's Michaela Rose.

In just her second meet as a Red Raider, Adeshina became the new high jump record holder with a 1.96m (6-5) clearance – first TTU female athlete to clear the 6-3 mark. The performance tied the No. 3 NCAA all-time mark as she leads the NCAA and world rankings.

It's the first female since 2021 (Ruth Usoro) to be named the National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season.
