Red Raiders get two run-rule wins on Tuesday

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball improved to 21-5, 2-1 after defeating New Mexico (7-21) by scores of 9-1 and 14-5 on Tuesday afternoon.

Riley Love lit up the Lobo's pitching staff, going 4-6 with three home runs and a triple and seven RBIs over both games.
Â
Aubrey Barnhart hit homers hit both games and has now homered in her last three games. Combined, she went 5-7 with five RBIs and improved her batting average to .386 on the year.

Abbie Orrick matched her career high for home runs in a season, launching a game-winning two-run homer to record her sixth of the year.
Â
Kailey Wyckoff also recorded a long ball, blasting a three-run shot 247 feet over the center field wall in the second inning of the second game. Wyckoff ended the game with four RBIs, setting a new career high.

Maddie Kuehl and Olivia Rains picked up their seventh and sixth wins of the season, respectively. Kuehl allowed just one run on four hits while striking out six as Rains set a new season high for strikeouts with five.

Raegan Jennings and Orrick had two-hit games in the second matchup. Jennings picked up her fourth double of the season and her third stolen base.

Logan Halleman added to her stolen base total as she is up to 14 now and has yet to be caught stealing.

As a team, the Red Raiders are now up to 35 home runs and 53 doubles on the season.
