Canady, Davis named to D1Softball's Preseason Top 100 list

NiJaree Canady tops the list while Mihyia Davis comes in at No. 46
LUBBOCK, Texas – The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Texas Tech softball as D1Softball announced its 2025 Preseason D100 Player Rankings on Monday. NiJaree Canady came in atop the list at No. 1 followed by Mihyia Davis who was ranked No. 46.
Canady, the reigning National Player of the Year, became one of just five players to ever lead the country in ERA back-to-back seasons and has a career ERA of just 0.67 while recording 555 strikeouts and has a winning record of 41-10. Canady was also named the No. 1 player ahead of the 2025 season by Softball America as well as a Preseason First Team All-American.
Davis, the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, is one of the fastest players in the country. She was given the NFCA Golden Shoe Award in 2023 for her 52 stolen bases. Davis's range in outfield makes her an elite glove and for her career she bats .401. Softball America ranked Davis the No. 66 player ahead of the 2025 season.
