Canady named D1Softball's top pitcher

NiJaree Canady continues to add preseason honors as she was named the No. 1 pitcher by D1Softball

LUBBOCK, Texas – NiJaree Canady continues to earn preseason recognition following her National Player of the Year campaign last year. D1Softball released its list of the top pitchers in the country on Tuesday and Canady – who was named the No. 1 overall player in the country in their list yesterday – came in a top the list.

It comes as no surprise that Canady was named the best pitcher in the country ahead of the 2025 season. She boasted an impressive 0.73 ERA – which led the country – and recorded 337 strikeouts while going 24-7 in the circle with 14 shutouts.

Canady has led the nation with the lowest ERA the last two seasons, making her just the fifth pitcher to ever do that.
