The Red Raiders landed eight on the two All-Big 12 teams and saw freshman Raleigh Greason earn All-Freshman honors
LUBBOCK, Texas – Graduate student Macy Blackburn earned 2025 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second-straight year, while nine players (five first, three second and an all-freshman) earned All-Big 12 honors, the league announced Tuesday.
A native of Keller, Blackburn earned Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season after another impressive campaign that saw the wide back score four times and tallied a program-record 12 assists thus far. Blackburn's honor marks the third-straight season a Red Raider has taken home the league's defender of the year. Hannah Anderson was also named the DPOY in 2023.
The Red Raiders are now 32-1-2 in the 35 contests where Blackburn records a helper after yesterday's draw against No. 23/16 Baylor.
Blackburn was joined on the first team by fellow outside back Kylie Bahr, as well as Sam Courtwright, Peyton Parsons and Taylor Zdrojewski (unanimous).
A first time All-Big 12 selection, Bahr earned the honors after helping lead a Tech backline that has limited opponents to just 14 total goals. On the offensive side of things, Bahr has dished out a pair of assists and has recorded 12 shots (three on-goal) in her nearly 1200 minutes played.
The Red Raiders next honoree, Courtwright, has had a bounce-back season after missing the entire 2024 campaign due a season-ending knee suffered before the season started. The 2023 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Courtwright has scored four times so far in 2025 and has recorded six assists. She has started and played in 18 of the Red Raiders contests including in all 12 Big 12 games the Red Raiders played. Courtwright was also named First Team All-Big 12 in 2023 as a freshman.
Tech's fourth first teamer, Parsons, earned her second-straight First Team All-Big 12 honor after another successful season that has seen the Denver native score six times, record four assists and fire 42 shots (24 goal). Three of the attacking-midfielders six strikes are game-winners. Parsons has played and started all 19 games this season.
And the fifth and final Red Raider to earn First Team All-Big 12 honors, Zdrojewski, also earned All-Big 12 honors for the second-straight season. A 2024 second teamer after scoring 10 times, Zdrojewski has raised her level in 2025, scoring 15 times and recording six braces. Her 15 goals are the fourth-most in program history and the most by a Red Raider since Kristen Davis in 2019. Zdrojewski was one of four unanimous All-Big 12 selections in the league this season. Â
Moving down the leagues' second team, the Red Raiders were also well represented as GK Faith Nguyen, D Eleanor Hays and MF/D Molly Skurcenski all took home Second Team honors.
An All-Big 12 selection for the second-straight season, Nguyen has once again shined in net for the Red Raiders recording a save percentage of .803 and a GAA of 0.73. She has recorded nine clean sheets this season bringing her two-year total to 19. The 19 clean sheets are tied for the fourth-most in program history while she now has two of the top-six clean sheets seasons in program history.
A key pickup out of the portal, Hays earns All-Big 12 honors in her first season as a Red Raider after playing in 17 games and making 16 starts. One of the Red Raiders two center backs that have allowed just 14 total goals this season, Hays has played 1308 minutes thus far helping the Red Raiders record the nine clean sheets.
The final All-Big 12 honoree is senior captain Molly Skurcenski. One of the most versatile players in college soccer, Skurcenski earned All-Big 12 honors for the first time in her career. So far in 2025, she has played both center back and holding midfielder for Coach Tom Stone, recording four assists in her nearly 1600 (1578) minutes played. She has played the full 90 in 14 of the Red Raiders 19 contests this season.
Tech's ninth and final honoree, freshman Raleigh Greason, was named to the Big 12's All-Freshman team after a successful rookie campaign that has seen the Colorado native play in all 19 contests making 11 starts. With three goals and a pair of assists on her ledger in nearly 1000 minutes played, Greason has started the last 11 matches in succession and started in 10 of the Red Raiders 11 league fixtures.
Greason's selection marks the fifth-straight year the Red Raiders have recorded an All-Freshman selection.
