Defender Macy Blackburn was tabbed a First Team All-Region selection, while Midfielder Sam Courtwright and forward Taylor Zdrojewski took home Second Team honors
KANSAS CITY – Fresh off a pair of career seasons, defender Macy Blackburn (First Team) and forward Taylor Zdrojewski (Second Team) were named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-Midwest Region teams. Â
The All-Region honor was Blackburn's fourth overall and third-straight First Team All-Midwest nod. A native of Keller, Blackburn scored five times and recorded a single-season program record 13 assists in 2025.
Blackburn's five goals matched her output during the first four seasons of her career and propelled the Red Raider legend to 66 career points, the sixth-most in program history.
The 10th and final goal of Blackburn's career was a second-half equalizer against UNC in the NCAA Round of 32 that propelled the Red Raiders into extra-time and eventually penalty kicks.
The 2024 and 2025 Big 12 Defender of the Year, Blackburn closed her Red Raider career by playing in 77 games, making 76 starts. A 2023 Third Team All-American and 2024 First Team All-American, Blackburn was named the No. 3 player in the country by TopDrawerSoccer back in August.
Tech's all-time leader in carer assists by nearly 20 helpers, Blackburn will likely earn her third-consecutive All-America honor on when the United Soccer Coaches unveils their full teams.
The Red Raiders second All-Region honoree, Zdrojewski, also had a career year in 2025 as the forward scored 16 times and tallied three assists. A native of Celina, Zdrojewski recorded seven of her 16 strikes in game-winning fashion tying former teammate Ashleigh Williams for the single-season mark in game-winners.
After not finding the back of the net in the first 25 games of her career, Zdrojewski has now exploded to the tune of 26 goals in her last 43 contests. Her 35 total points in 2025 were the third-most in a single-season in school history trailing just Krtisty Frantz (44) and 2025 Texas Tech Hall of Famer Janine Beckie (38).
Zdrojewski also moved into solo eighth place on the career points list (60) and finished the season in a tie with former NWSL First Round selection Kiersten Davis for third on the all-time single season goal list, trailing just Beckie (17) and Frantz (18) atop the list.
A 2025 First Team All-Big 12 selection, Zdrojewski will look to add All-American to her resume when the full list is announced on Friday (Dec. 5) ahead of the 2025 College Cup.
Led by the strong performances from Zdrojewski and Blackburn, the Red Raiders went 14-2-5 in 2025 and were unbeaten (7-0-3) at home for the second time in three seasons.
With its first round win over UTSA, Texas Tech became one of 11 schools in the country to record a win in the NCAA Tournament in three-straight seasons and is the only school in the Big 12 to accomplish that feat.
