Canady earns her second Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor after a dominating weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Big 12 released its weekly awards on Tuesday which featured NiJaree Canady winning Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Canady tossed 17.0 innings and went a perfect 3-0 while allowing just one run and striking out 22 batters. The junior pitcher was a big reason for Tech's home sweep over Utah – the programs first home sweep since 2016.
So far this season, Canady ranks fourth in the country in strikeouts (183), tied for first in ERA (0.60), third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.28), third in strikeouts per seven innings (11.1) and second in WHIP (.66).
Canady also looks to be returning to the lineup on offense where she is batting .302 with four home runs and 20 RBI so far.
