Hurtova wraps up round two of Lubbock Regional

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech's Klara Hurtova closed out the second round of the NCAA Lubbock Regional on Monday at the Rawls Course, carding an 11-over-par 83. Hurtova is 22-over-par after 36 holes and sits in 63rd place.
The Red Raider sophomore was last to tee off in round two, at 12:50 p.m. CDT, accompanied by two additional individuals, out of the six total who qualified for the regional.Â
After beginning her round on hole No. 10 on Monday, Hurtova carded a par on the opening hole, starting her second round strong. As Hurtova came to the end of the back nine, she took advantage of hole No. 17, a par 5, with her first birdie of the event to dip down to 3-over after eight holes. But hole No. 18 bit back, as she doubled to drop to 5-over for the back nine.Â
On the front nine, her second nine holes for round two, Hurtova finished 6-over-par (42). Hurtova's overall round two scorecard on Monday included eight pars, six bogeys, three double bogeys, and a birdie on the back, concluding 36 holes with 18 left to go.
Teams began Monday's round late, at 11 a.m. CDT, due to persistent inclement weather in the area, but had no issues completing the second round. The final round will be delayed once again as storms are projected to push through the area overnight.Â
The final round, weather permitting, is set to start at 10 a.m. CDT on Tuesday. Hurtova's third-round tee time is set to take place at 11:50 a.m., beginning on hole No. 10 for the second-straight round.Â
