LUBBOCK, Texas – A record-number six Red Raiders secured their spot for Team USA this past weekend in Eugene, Ore., competing in the 2025 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships. The World Championships will take place Sept. 13-21 in Tokyo, Japan.

Over in the sprints, Courtney Lindsey finished second in the 100m, sprinting to the tune of a new PB time of 9.82 (1.8w) – his best run since his 2023 NCAA first-place finish of 9.89. Meanwhile, in the 200m, Lindsey placed fourth at 19.82 (0.2w) but with defending champion Noah Lyles winning and having a bye into the championships next month, Lindsey moves up a spot and makes the team.
Caleb Dean got his redemption one year later as he finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 48.45. Dean last summer fell with less than 200m to go, missing out on a chance to make the Olympic team.
