Canady, Pannell, Williams and Davis earn Softball America Preseason All-American honors
LUBBOCK, Texas – Softball America released the first top 25 poll of the 2026 season on Tuesday and followed that up with its preseason All-American teams.
Texas Tech sits at No. 1 in the top 25 as NiJaree Canady, Taylor Pannell and Mia Williams garner Preseason First Team All-American honors as Mihyia Davis earned Preseason Second Team All-American honors.
Tech finished last season at No. 2 in the country, which was the highest ranking in program history, and spent much of the season ranked inside the top 15 as they earned a 12 seed going into the postseason.
This is the second-straight season that Canady has represented the Red Raiders on the first team and the third-straight season she has been named to the list. Pannell and Williams join the list and are just the second and third Red Raiders to be named to an All-American First Team of any kind.
Davis has high expectations after coming off a record-breaking junior year where she recorded a new program record for hits (93) and runs (66) in a single season as she was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, NFCA All-Central Region First Team and the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.
